I was recently commissioned by the New York State Historical Association to create a custom jewelry collection complimenting a two year exhibit at the Farmer’s Museum. The exhibit entitled, Farming’s New Era: From Field to Table in New York State, features the growth and harvest of hops in upstate New York since the early 1800’s.
After a few months of development, The Cascade Collection premiered at the museum this weekend in Cooperstown, NY. Inspired by the Cascade variety of hops, and crafted of sterling silver, the collection offers two styles of earrings, two styles of necklaces, a bracelet and a lapel pin. The pieces are available exclusively at the museum for the duration of the exhibit. www.farmersmuseum.org
NOTE: Special thanks to Ben Vaughn of Round Table Hops for providing the Cascade hops for inspiration. The NY hops weren’t quite ready this spring during the design phase and Ben was gracious enough to help us out with his hydroponically grown hops.
