VIELÄ Collaborates with the Calvert Marine Museum

VIELÄ Jewelry is proud to announce the debut of Along the Cliffs, a sterling silver necklace exclusively designed for the Calvert Marine Museum. The piece is a tribute to fossil sharks and cast from an authentic fossilized shark tooth, belonging to the silky shark, Carcharhinus falciformis.

These sharks were present during the Miocene epoch and lived in the shallow Atlantic Ocean that once covered Southern Maryland. This is one of the few sharks known from fossil teeth found along Calvert Cliffs that is still alive today. It is one of the most abundant living sharks and can be found around the world in tropical waters. The necklace is available in a 16” or 18” length and is proudly made in the United States. Please contact the Museum Store at the Calvert Marine Museum for purchase.
